Application Security Engineer

I'm seeking to hire an experienced Application Security Engineer on behalf of my Dublin-based client. You will work with the software engineering department to design and implement security controls and protect applications from security threats.

Duties:

• Reviewing code to outline security flaws and design weaknesses
• Developing and implementing security testing tools to improve the efficiency of security assessments
• Working alongside the development team and architects to implement security controls into application designs
• Carrying out application security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and risks
• Performing dynamic application testing and manual code reviews

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar application security role, with experience of working directly with software development teams
• Strong understanding of application security principles and common vulnerabilities
• Good understanding of the secure software development lifecycle
• Experience of working in public cloud environments (GCP, Azure & AWS)
• Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as OWASP and NIST
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java and .NET
