We are working with an Irish owned startup who are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Lead (Python / Flask) to drive the development of the backend systems. As the Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining scalable web applications and services. You will lead a team of engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure that their solutions are high-performance, secure, and maintainable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of Python-based web applications using Flask
- Architect and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems
- Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver seamless user experiences
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to best practices
Qualifications:
- 8+ years experience in Python development, with a strong focus on Flask
- 3+ years experience leading a team of engineers or developers
- Experience with relational databases - PostgreSQL
Nice to have:
- Experience with cloud technologies, ideally with AWS
- Experience with front end technologies, React
