Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior System Administrator to manage and maintain a high-performance, secure, and reliable infrastructure. You will be responsible for the administration of Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, and virtualized environments, ensuring their optimal performance and security in a highly regulated industry.
You will collaborate with security and network teams, support a range of applications, and help drive automation and process improvements. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of critical system administration tasks and lead projects that enhance the overall IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Windows Server OS, Linux, Active Directory, and virtualized environments (VMWare)
- Ensure the security and compliance of the systems by managing firewalls, and encryption technologies, and implementing security policies
- Oversee system patching, updates, and backups to ensure the integrity and availability of services
- Work with network and security teams to support Cisco network infrastructures, firewalls, and related security solutions
- Manage user access, privileges, and policies using Active Directory and Identity Management systems
- Troubleshoot issues and ensure the stability, reliability, and performance of systems across all environments
- Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline administrative tasks and reduce manual work
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security protocols
- Produce and maintain technical documentation to ensure consistency in system administration practices
Skills & Qualifications:
- 7+ years experience as a System Administrator in an enterprise environment
- Expertise in Windows Server OS, Active Directory, and Linux (preferably RedHat or similar)
- Experience with VMWare and other virtualization technologies
- Familiarity with network security, firewalls, and encryption technologies
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Experience with automation tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, Linux+, or VMWare VCP are desirable
