We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Junior Systems Engineer / Helpdesk Support to join our client's team in Limerick. This role is perfect for someone in the early stages of their career who is passionate about IT, systems administration, and providing technical support to users. You will be responsible for both first-line support and assisting with IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line technical support for end users, resolving IT issues via phone, email, or in person.
  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance, system updates, patches, and backups.
  • Collaborate with the manager on projects related to infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, and migrations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows operating systems.
  • Manage and maintain Office 365 user accounts and email systems.
  • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and take proactive steps to avoid disruptions.
  • Document and maintain records of system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Assist with inventory management of IT assets and equipment.

Key Requirements:

  • Education: A diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or relevant work experience).
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in an IT support, helpdesk, or systems administration role.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting hardware (PCs, laptops, printers, etc.) and software.
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Office 365 environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
