AP Accountant

Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Job Summary:

My client is looking to bring an Accounts Payable Specialist on board. This role will be on-site in Jacksonville, FL. The salary range is $55,000-$65,000 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cash Receipts & Accounts Receivable: Process cash receipts, maintain account balances, and respond to inquiries.
• Donor Acknowledgements: Collaborate with the Development Department to ensure donors receive accurate and timely acknowledgments.
• Accounts Payable: Review, verify, and process invoices, including matching purchase orders and vendor documents. Follow up with vendors as needed.
• Credit Card Payments: Collect receipts, code expenses, and reconcile credit card statements.
• Reconciliation & Reporting: Perform monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts (excluding fixed assets and inventory). Assist in the preparation of journal entries, payroll, and financial reports.
• Grant Management: Prepare financial reports for grants and assist with other reporting needs.
• Audit Preparation: Support the annual financial audit, IRS Form 990 filing, and budget preparation.
• Administrative Duties: Assist with special projects, insurance claims, and other administrative tasks as assigned by the CFO.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a strong understanding of general ledger transactions and financial statement preparation.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with accounting/financial software eg NetSuite or SAP
• Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, attention to detail, excellent reasoning ability, and sound judgment.
