IT Support Engineer (Senior)

A client of mine is looking for an experienced Senior IT Systems Engineer to join their team in Cork. This role involves providing high-level support and managing complex IT systems, with a focus on Windows and Microsoft environments. You will also lead key infrastructure projects while ensuring seamless system operations.

Responsibilities:

• Provide Level 3 support for Windows-based environments and manage Active Directory, including user accounts and permissions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated hardware, software, and network issues.
• Lead system upgrades, migrations, and other IT infrastructure projects.
• Document solutions and maintain accurate records of technical issues.
• Support virtualisation platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional IT teams.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in IT support roles
• Strong expertise in Windows environments, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, VMware, or Hyper-V is highly desirable.
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Microsoft Certified: Systems Engineer are a plus.
• Ability to lead IT projects and work effectively in a hybrid environment.
