Principal Network Engineer

Fully Remote Within Ireland

We seek to hire an experienced Principal Network Engineer on behalf of our client, a global player in the Financial Services space. You will help to lead the Network Engineering team and design, implement and optimise the network infrastructure.

Duties:

• Develop and oversee network architecture strategies that align with business objectives
• Mentor and guide engineers while promoting network engineering best practices
• Lead the deployment of complex network solutions and analysis of network performance metrics, providing recommendations for improvements
• Implementing and maintaining network security protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards and business policies
• Acting as the escalation point for complex network issues, providing expert troubleshooting and resolution support

Requirements:

• A minimum of 8 years experience in network engineering
• Relevant certifications such as CCIE, CCNP and CCNP Security
• Extensive knowledge of network architecture
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols, firewalls, VPNs and network monitoring tools
